Experience:
Please find below a summary of the NEW package for First Officers available with Korean Air (KAL). Basic prerequisites, as set by KAL, are for holders of a CPL (Multi engine, Instrument Rating, Type Rating). For Type Rated (TR) candidates they must have flown on-type within the last 12 months (the requirement is for actual line operation on type during this period) and have last flight on any commercial jet aircraft type within the last 3 months. For Non Type Rated (NTR) Candidates, they must have experience on the relevant aircraft type (ie B767/757 or A320) within the last 12 months and to have had their last flight on any commercial jet aircraft within the last 3 months. All candidates must be under age 45, hold and provide documentation showing they have completed at least a 2 year College Diploma and have a minimum of the following experience:
Type-rated: B744 & B777 - minimum of 2,000 airline transport hours and a minimum of 300 hours on type.

A330 & B737 - minimum of 1,000 airline transport hours and a minimum of 300 hours on type.

Non type-rated: B744 & B777 - minimum of 2,000 total airline transport hours and a minimum of 1,000 hours on commercial jet, with ideally B767/757 experience.

A330 & B737 - minimum of 1,000 total airline transport hours and a minimum of 500 hours on commercial jet. A330 candidates should ideally have A320/340 experience.

Candidates would be subject to a screening in SEL prior to obtaining at their own expense the appropriate typerating.

Days free of duty
|
9 consecutive days plus 2 travel days per month. However, if scheduling permits, your entitlement of two days per month of annual leave can be added to these monthly days off allowing you 13 consecutive days per month.
In addition, up to 3 extra days are allowed for travel per month.
There is no provision for commuting days off until completion of initial training.
