Auckland City is built on a narrow (11km) isthmus separating two natural harbours, the Waitemata which has deep water and is the main port facing the Pacific Ocean and the Manukau which leads out to the Tasman Sea. Auckland International Airport is itself built on reclaimed land in the Manukau harbour and is 30 minutes drive from/to the central city and the conference venue. Most activities and attractions are also within 30 minutes drive time of the central city.
