Senior Technical Officer
David joined the NZALPA team in 2013 having filled a number of aviation safety and security related roles in the UK and Europe. These included that of Air Safety Manager, Data Manager and Flight Safety Specialist. During his 25 years or so service with British Airways, he flew Boeing B747 and Lockheed L1011 TriStar aircraft as a senior flight engineer and latterly he was a simulator instructor on the Boeing B777.
He works closely with the Technical Director and Technical Sub-Committee on all technical and safety issues of concern to the Association and its members, undertaking research and representing the Association's views with government, regulators, accident investigatory bodies, airports and other key industry organisations.
He is an accredited accident investigator and has completed studies at Cranfield Universities world renowned Safety and Accident Investigation Centre in the UK.
