Hon Phil Twyford, Minister of Transport
With the festive season upon us, I
wanted to wish all of the New Zealand
Air Line Pilots’ Association members
and staff a safe and special time with
family and friends.
I know this time of the year, and
throughout the summer, can be the
busiest and many will be working
through the period.
Over the last few years we’ve seen a
record number of people travelling
by air, into and within New Zealand,
as well as those of you continuing
to serve in your essential transport
aviation, safety and rescue roles.
The high level of skill and dedication
of New Zealand’s pilots, air traffic
controllers and those who maintain
and support this work throughout
industry allows those of us who
can take a break over this period
to connect safely with loved
ones, reflect and celebrate. 2020
will be a significant year for the
sector, including the passing of an
improved Civil Aviation Bill, and I
thank everyone who has provided
invaluable feedback. I wish you all the
best of the season and a safe and
happy New Year.
