Although no date has been set, Hamish Walker MP’s private member’s bill to strengthen penalties for the misuse of high powered lasers (High-power Laser Pointer Offences and Penalties Bill) was introduced in September and is expected to have its first reading and Parliamentary debate this term.
Meanwhile, the Opposition continues to work on a separate private member’s bill for better regulation of RPAS/drones, specifically those weighing more than 250 grams.
