Over Easter, members of the NZALPA team were highly visible and popular with their stall in the aviation training section at Warbirds Over Wanaka (WOW). Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, 2018 saw a record number of up to 60,000 people attending the show over the holiday weekend. The NZALPA stall proved a hit with a constant stream of visitors and NZALPA volunteers talking with current and potential members as well as providing information to many interested in aviation as a career and the work we do.
The event provided a great opportunity to explain more about the organisation and the benefits we offer. Many of our visitors said they’d read about us on social media, through the NZALPA 2Way app and also read issues of Uplink. The volunteers were buoyed by the level of engagement with NZALPA activity and how members particularly were sourcing relevant information through the various choices of NZALPA communications channels.
NZALPA staff would like to thank the members who volunteered at the stall, without whose help and support such a successful event would not be possible.
