L3 CTS – Advocate Adam Nicholson
Negotiations have reached a point where a significant number of issues have been resolved “in principle,” and work between meetings is taking place to draft provisions in the collective employment agreement (CEA) reflecting this. Progress has also been made in the standard provisions which occur in all CEAs and in areas such as sick leave, seniority and career progression. Areas such as salaries, redundancy provisions, and notice periods, among others, are yet to be resolved.

Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT) - Dawn Handforth (GM) and Andrew Ridling (Industrial Director)
A constructive meeting was held with the CEO at the beginning of September, who has publicly encouraged pilots to join NZALPA. There was a broad discussion on the status of negotiations with NASO, the proposed merger and the Flight and Duty Time scheme, and how to progress collective bargaining efficiently. Preliminary work is being done to draft a CEA framework to be used once the detail of the NASO contract is finalised with the Government. Both parties are in agreement about the importance of pragmatically working together to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
